The recent tragedy in Orlando has affected me, and many of us on so many levels. As a father, as a Canadian, as a gay man, I have experienced the judgement and segregation experienced by many of us who live a relationship that is “out”.

For many years I dealt with inner conflict, sadness and confusion about myself, where writing was my only outlet for emotional release and healing. Earlier this year I started to write ‘Weeds’ and finished production 2 weeks ago. My intention was to release it as a teaser in July for my upcoming EP, but given the circumstances in Orlando and the impact its had on not just the LGBT community, but everyone touched by this heartless act, I have decided to release it now.

Sometimes the healing of others begins with sharing your own experiences. My hope is that if you are a member of the LGBT community or an ally, please download this FREE song. Listen, share and love. The Grey Disorder believes that music can heal, and the music community plays an integral role in helping others. @TheGreyDisorder #Pride #Peace #LoveIsLove

Will you follow me down to the river, once more?
Let the heavens thunder, and the waters rage.
They punish us for love.
We're just weeds in this place.

If this love is sin, then let's burn together.
I don't mind cause we're together.
How can this be wrong, when it feels so right?
We're followed by their judging eyes.

We're prisoners with no walls.
Of flesh and bone.
Forbidden lovers, left with no home.
